playing Feels Like cover.
Other members were busy at that time. So from the usual 5-man band down to a 3-man band (murag…. ehem…), this was the most fitting song we could play from that session.
the drummer here is Gerard Anthony Aguaviva (wohooo!!!). The queer thing is that he doesn’t know the song before we jammed and he got the his drum part of song arrangement before 30 minutes. It’s above what we expected. Cheers!! After which, there was a dead air since we don’t know what to play next and we don’t know the musical inclinations of this drummer.
Ako’y una naging isang saihaiyista
At noong una ko syang nakita, namulat aking mata
Ayan tuloy, nabighani ako
Pag-ibig na yata ito
Minsan nag-isip akong sumulat
Chorus 1:
Chorus 2:
Ikaw lang pala ang tadhana ko (4x)
from the composition entitled NAFETS
This is actually a tribute song to our dear Bamboo Boy, Stefan (now you should know why the title is named such) performed during his birthday - graduation party. It’s his love story of how he ended up with his love, Jaan. We, the Bamboo Boyz, had an argument in regards to its lyric content. It’s half-expurgated. We hope we could make it’s appropriate arrangements and turn it into a full-track song. hahaha! Dream on Earthstage! I mean let’s realize dreams!
another clip of our jamming/practice prior to the gig at USC - South. We practiced the soundcheck and Dark Blue….
dated November 18, 2009. We were practicing a loud soundcheck preprared for a gig…. the resulting product was the soundcheck at the gig in University of San Carlos - South campus…
We really had fun jamming in that session.
I.:
Di na yata kayang pigilin
Ang daloy ng damdamin
Pilit mang sabihin
Na siya lang ang npara sa ‘kin
Refrain 1:
Ngunit kahit anong gawin
Di na kayang bawiin
Chorus:
Puso kong nabihag mo’t inangkin
Ito’y hindi ko naman talaga ginusto
Ngunit bakit naging ganito?
Damdamin ko nung una’y di pinansin
Dahil sa iba ako’y may pagtingin
Hindi ko naisip na ikaw lang pala
Ang nagpapatibok ng puso kong ito!
II.:
Kalooban at kagandahan mo
Ang inspirasyon ko
Pagkatao mong tunay
At ang makulay mong buhay
Refrain 2:
Damdamin ko’y iyong dinggin
Di na kayang pigilin
[Chorus]
Bridge:
Nais ko na malaman mo
Na ako’y di pa umibig pa ng ganito
Tinuruan mo ako ng tunay na pagmamahal
At ang buhay ko’y binigyan ng dahilan
[Chorus]
Coda:
Hindi ko naisip na ikaw lang pala
Wala nang duda, ikaw talaga
Ang nagpapatibok ng puso kong ito!
by Xavier Bacalla
This is a song composed by our dear band member, Xavier. Kayzel Marie Garbo made contributions to the lyrics. Although the song is initially complete, musical arrangements of it are still needed to be thoroughly discussed in depth. There’s a, urgent possibly, need to finish this song because it’s really a good one. Be proud of it Xav!
… from Earthstage’s 2nd gig at the Cultural Center in University of San Carlos - South Campus last November 21, 2009.
Eugene and Ace weren’t there with us to play because of their busy schedule (dur!!! wa jd tay mahimo anang Nursing). Rey Nino and Mary Pauleene were there to save the show. WEEE!
For the first time, Rey led the guitars and he did the guitar solo! Kudos Rey. Also, it’s Jayfe’s first time to do bass on band performance. Hehe! It’s Xavier’s choice to sing this because he preferred it rather than singing Dark Blue which was harder for him.
Hm… it’s “sayang” that the best song performed on that night, which was You Are My Religion, was not recorded. Thanks pala Farrah for the video.
Critiques and feedbacks are very much welcomed here. Thanks!

The Dark Blue there, we admit, has more mistakes than the last one performed in the first gig. But the sounds and the mics were good. We don’t have to scream at the top of our lungs just to hear ourselves out like in the first gig. The funny thing here is that Mino’s drumsticks were thrown away at the middle of the song. She said that the crash cymbals were just swinging much and she had to adjust with it.

Enchanted by Earthstage
Earthstage’s third song in Glow in the Music concert last October 19, 2009 at Mandaue Sports Complex. This concert was organized by Nursing Studs Batch 2011 of Velez College. It was our first “formal” gig (that is, in front of many public audience). It was frustrating in our side because we couldn’t hear ourselves and the instruments while we were performing.
This is the first composition to be performed on stage. It was an ambitious attempt to perform it since it requires every instrument and every guitar pedal needed. It didn’t actually sound as good as we had during the band practice. We thought we will always sounded better on practice than on the stage because that had always been the case every time we perform.
